Dr Jay Stewart, MBE

Jay has been involved in the trans community since 2002. Since then he has developed a passion for increasing opportunities for trans people’s voices to be heard in all of their diversity, intelligence and richness. In 2008 Jay co-founded Gendered Intelligence alongside Dr Catherine McNamara and now oversees the main activities across the organisation.

Gendered Intelligence (GI) is a not-for-profit Community Interest Company, established in 2008. They work predominantly with the trans community and those who impact on trans lives; they specialise in supporting young trans people aged 8-25. GI deliver trans youth programmes, support for parents and carers, professional development and trans awareness training for all sectors. For schools, college and universities they offer workshops and assemblies for students, training for staff and a mentoring scheme for young trans people.

Jay is co-organiser of School Revision and leading the lesson programme during the day.
