Jake Jones

Jake has enjoyed sports from a very early age. He played rugby for his local boys team and when he got to U12 was no longer allowed to play for them. Jake chose to turn the situation around into a positive and found a passion in coaching and teaching. He tailored the rest of his school, college, and university life towards his goal of becoming a PE teacher.

Jake graduated from his PGCE in July 2011 and started working straight away in East London. He is now in his fifth year of teaching. Partly due to its large size (1500 pupils y7-11), the school is often described as a challenging environment, but Jake still loves each day.  Excitingly Jake ‘transitioned’ in October 2014 whilst staying in his role full-time as PE teacher. The pupils have shared his journey, going through times together. Being able to align to his gender as well as have his passion as his job is the best feeling he has known.

Jake is leading the P.E. lessons at 10.30 – 11.30am and 1.30 – 2.30pm.
