Karen Field

Karen Field is an established Science Team Leader in a Hounslow Academy and has been teaching for over 30 years. She has actively promoted every aspect of Science for all, irrespective of gender stereotypes and expectations. Over the years she has worked with the Royal Society of Chemists, the Natural History Museum, the Science Museum, the Institute of Physics, Kew Gardens, the Institute of Cosmetics, B.A.A and many other companies and establishments in their outreach and education programmes. She has tried to lead by example and show that it is okay to be different. She started her career in the East End of London before moving to West London where she found that the local “cockney accent” got stronger rather than the way she expected. This has apparently rubbed off on her!

Karen is leading the Biology: Our Bodies lesson at 10.30 – 11.30am.
